SITUATING MYSELF AS A DEPRESSIVE I am a well-published author in the field of adult education who has a fulfilling job, a loving family, and a rich a-vocational life focusing on sport (soccer and cricket) and music. True, I have suffered predictable life crises – the death of parents, divorce, being fired and various health problems – but by most people’s estimate I live a life of enormous privilege. For over a decade, however, I have suffered from a sometimes crippling clinical depression that has overshadowed everything that I do.
