POPULATION MOBILITY AND IMMOBILITY People have always moved between regions, jobs and houses as a strategy to increase their well-being or to respond to the different circumstances they face. In Chapter 6, Fincher and Wulff describe recent population mobility within Australia, emphasising how the spatial redistribution of poorer households reflected in the ABS data is borne in part by this internal migration.
