Cf. 1. 3 Suffixation The range of suffixes used to derive 'new' verb forms in Russian is much more restricted than that of the prefixes. There is only one perfectivising suffix, and basically two suffixes which have been used to form imperfectives from perfectives. 1 Perfectivising suffix -Hy- Most of the perfectives with the suffix -HY- can be considered as procedurals.
